Residence Life



Frontier Campus in Cranberry Portage has been around since 1965 as a school with a student residence housing over 200 students on campus with multiple communities within one area.

The staff within campus offers student services with Guidance Councilors, Cafeteria, Laundry building, atriums for students to socialize.


Home Away From Home:

  • Each residence area has 2 area counselors—the primary support of student care, safety and wellbeing
  • 2 Head Counselors—one always on shift
  • 2 Shift Heads—one always on shift
  • Fly-in communities return home 4—5 times per year
  • Road accessible communities are bussed home often during the school year
  • Each residence area is equipped with a TV lounge, washrooms, showers, kitchen area and laundry area
  • Laundry services are available Mon—Wed.
  • Cafeteria provides breakfast, lunch,  supper and night lunch that follows the Healthy Foods Policy
  • Weekly shopping trips to Flin Flon or The Pas
  • Other trips such as movie nights, camping trips, fishing trips, and dinner out trips
  • Community facilities such as curling rink and skating rink are available for organized teams, physical education classes and fun nights
  • Local spiritual and wellness opportunities
  • Part time jobs are available on campus
  • Study Labs are open 4 days a week, after school. Teachers are available to help students during this time
  • Large library with a wide variety of print and video materials with a fulltime librarian
  • Winterhawks Hockey Program
